Shimon Chertow is a partner located in the Tel-Aviv office. He heads the firm's practice in the area of intellectual property and unfair competition law, including registration and litigation. Mr. Chertow advises on matters of intellectual property management and high-tech technology transactions, software licensing and distribution. He has represented parties in some of the leading cases in copyright and trademark law. As an advocate before the Israeli courts on all levels, Mr. Chertow has acquired significant expertise in complex civil litigation in commercial and banking, as well as tort and insurance matters. He has represented corporate clients in major cases involving product liability for pharmaceutical products, human and animal vaccines. He has handled professional liability cases involving doctors, architects, engineers and lawyers. He has litigated transnational commercial disputes requiring expertise in private international law. Mr. Chertow advises international companies and Israeli firms on corporate matters, banking, labor law, sales, distribution, joint ventures, licensing and franchising transactions. Mr. Chertow's professional affiliations include the International Trademarks Association, AIPPI and the Israel Copyright Association. Born in the United States, Mr. Chertow is a graduate of Columbia University, where he earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Middle Eastern studies in 1979. He received an LL.B. degree from Tel-Aviv University in 1983 and was admitted to the Israel Bar in 1984. He is fluent in Hebrew and English. |
